La 28va versión de la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Paz (FIL) es el encuentro literario más importante del país, con 100.000 visitantes aproximadamente, creada en 1996 gracias a la iniciativa de la Cámara Departamental del Libro de La Paz y nombrada en 2003 Patrimonio Cultural de la Ciudad de La Paz.
- Se desarrollará del 31 de julio al 11 de agosto, en el Campo Ferial Chuquiago Marka, los horarios serán: lunes de 10.00 a 22.00; martes a jueves, de 14.30 a 22.00; viernes y sábado, de 10.00 a 23.00; y domingo, de 10.00 a 22.00.
- El precio de la entrada general es Bs 15, menores de 12 y mayores de 65 años cuentan con ingreso libre presentando su cédula de identidad, disponibles también en la plataforma de SuperTicket.
- La temática este año es “Voces y memorias de la naturaleza”. Además, la FIL La Paz se enfocará en la diversidad cultural y lingüística, y Rumbo al Bicentenario de Bolivia.
- Más de 500 serán las actividades del Programa Cultural, entre las que resaltan 230 presentaciones de libros.
- Del 8 al 11 de agosto se desarrollará el ‘II Encuentro Internacional de Poesía Jauría de Palabras’, que reunirá a 28 poetas nacionales con invitados del exterior.
- Además de las presentaciones de libros, la FIL tendrá encuentro con autores nacionales, encuentro con autores internacionales, conversatorios, charlas, conferencias, talleres, presentaciones artísticas (cine, música, danza y teatro), exposiciones (fotografía y artes plásticas), programación infantil y otros.
- La novedad de este año en el Programa Cultural serán 10 secciones especiales, cuyo objetivo es fortalecer áreas que tienen un público específico. Éstas son: Brasil, Fundación Patiño, Voces de la Naturaleza, FIL Niños, FIL Artes, FIL Cómic, FIL Ilustración, FIL Poesía, Rumbo al Bicentenario de Bolivia, y FIL Conexión.
- La música y el teatro será parte importante de la feria. Algunos artistas a presentarse son: Ensamble de Moxos, Magdalena Felitas, Bia Trindade, Delorian, Bing Band de Nuestra Señora de La Paz, Luis Rico, Banda Calorosa, Matilde Casazola, Manuel Monrroy, Ensamble Aires Indios, Christopher Chaves e Banda, Caju e Forró de Rabeca, Kori Warmis teatro, Nina Uma, Kaipi Rap, entre otros.
- Contará con la participación de más de 30 Invitados internacionales y cerca de 200 escritores nacionales.
- El país invitado es Brasil, destacará el medio ambiente del Pantanal, bioma que comparten Brasil y Bolivia. Y la Fundación Patiño como Institución Invitada conmemorará 40 años en La Paz.

10 points before going to the La Paz International Book Fair
The 28th version of The International Book Fair La Paz (FIL) is the most important literary event in the country, with approximately 100,000 visitors. It was created in 1996 thanks to the initiative of the Departmental Book Chamber of La Paz and it was recognized as Cultural Heritage of the City of La Paz in 2003.
1. It will take place from July 31st to August 11th, at the Chuquiago Marka Fairgrounds. The opening schedules will be: Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Tuesday to Thursday, from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
2. The ticket for the people in general will cost Bs 15, children under 12 and people over 65 will have free access just presenting their identity card. Tickets are also available on SuperTicket platform.
3. The theme this year is “Voices and memories of nature”. In addition, the FIL La Paz will focus on cultural and linguistic diversity, and towards the Bicentennial anniversary of Bolivia.
4. There will be more than 500 activities in the Cultural Program, among which 230 book presentations stand out.
5. From August 8th to the 11th, the International Poetry Meeting “Jauría de Palabras” will take place, which will bring together 28 national poets with guests from abroad.
6. In addition to book presentations, the FIL will have meetings with national authors, meetings with international authors, discussions, lectures, conferences, workshops, artistic presentations (film, music, dance and theater), exhibitions (photography and visual arts), children’s activities among others.
7. New this year in the Cultural Program, there will be 10 special sections, which objective is to strengthen areas that have a specific audience. These are: Brazil, Patiño Foundation, Voices of Nature, FIL Children, FIL Arts, FIL Comics, FIL Illustration, FIL Poetry, Towards the Bicentennial anniversary of Bolivia, and FIL Connection.
8. Music and theater will be an important part of the fair. Some of the artists to be presented are: Ensamble de Moxos, Magdalena Felitas, Bia Trindade, Delorian, Bing Band of Nuestra Señora de La Paz, Luis Rico, Banda Calorosa, Matilde Casazola, Manuel Monrroy, Ensamble Aires Indios, Christopher Chaves e Banda, Caju e Forró de Rabeca, Kori Warmis teatro, Nina Uma, Kaipi Rap and many more.
9. As part of the event, they will also have the participation of more than 30 international guests and nearly 200 national writers.
10. The guest country is Brazil, and it will highlight the environment of the Pantanal, a biome area shared by Brazil and Bolivia. Finally, the Patiño Foundation as a Guest Institution will commemorate 40 years in La Paz.
